We compared 37 UK agencies that write B2B content, improve AI search visibility, or do both, and took every price from each firm’s own website, so you can shortlist on facts rather than first impressions.
If you run a UK B2B firm and want content that brings in enquiries and gets your name into AI answers, you probably want to know two things first: what it costs, and who to ask. This page covers 37 agencies that sell B2B content writing, answer engine optimisation (AEO; some firms use GEO or AI search optimisation for the same or overlapping work), or both. Every listing uses the same fields: where the firm is based, what it sells, its published price, who it suits and when you would do better elsewhere. We checked every website on 22 October 2026, we ranked nobody, nobody paid to be listed, and 21 of the 37 publish no price for their content or AEO work, which is more than half. We are on the list too, in the group where we work, and every group is in alphabetical order.
We also put the questions buyers ask to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google, and we report what came back. After reading, try asking the two agencies on your shortlist the five questions in the “four kinds of agency” section below; the answers tell you more than any rate card.
What £1,000 a month buys: ads, AI visibility tracking or content
With about £1,000 a month, buyers often ask why not put it all into Google Ads. You can, and for some firms you should. Ads can bring enquiries quickly while you pay for them, and the paid traffic largely stops when the spending does. Content marketing is slower, but it works as always-on marketing: it builds brand equity, it can keep answering the question a buyer typed at eleven on a Sunday night, and it lets your sales grow at a pace your team can handle rather than in a sudden rush you cannot serve. If you need results this month, advertising may suit you better. If you want to be the firm buyers already trust by the time they call, content is the longer and steadier route.
AI answers add a third option. OpenAI announced plans to test ads in ChatGPT in January 2026, began showing them in the United States on 9 February, and extended the pilot to the UK on 6 June 2026 (PPC Land, 2026), with an Ads Manager beta opening to UK advertisers later that month (Search Engine Land, 2026). OpenAI’s own position is that ads do not influence the answers ChatGPT gives, that they are labelled and kept separate from the organic answer, and that they may appear only for users on the Free and Go tiers, so Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise subscribers do not see them (OpenAI, 2026). You can now pay for a labelled placement below a ChatGPT answer in the UK. Being the source the answer quotes and cites is a different game, and it is the one this page is about.
When we asked four AI assistants who could help a UK B2B firm get cited by ChatGPT for about £1,000 a month, the advice split. Claude put a small tracking tool at £50 to £150 and the rest into content and authority work through a freelancer or small agency; ChatGPT allocated £600 to £700 to specialist implementation and only £200 to £300 to expert-led content; Perplexity and Google pointed to AEO specialists with packages under £1,000. Our view: tracking is the small part of the spend now (monitoring starts at £149 a month on this page), and the writing is usually what gives an assistant something worth quoting, so writing deserves most of the money.
What you need done: four kinds of content and AEO agency
“Content and AEO” covers four different jobs, and most agencies on this page lead with one (our plain-English guide to AEO explains the terms). Decide which job you need done first, then read the matching table. Each firm appears once, placed by the service most relevant to this page rather than by its full offer, so a full-service agency sits where its content or AEO work puts it.
A. Content specialists: writing is the main offer
These firms write: articles, guides, web copy and thought leadership, often for large brands or for other agencies. Most of them do not sell AI search work, though several now describe their writing as built for AI search as well as Google. They fit when you already have someone measuring and fixing your site and you need a writing team that knows your sector. Ask them who does the writing, how they interview your experts, and whether they will put a named author on the piece.
B. Content and AI visibility together
These firms write and measure: articles built from your expertise, page improvements, and in most cases some form of reporting on whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers mention you. This is the group we work in. It fits firms of 10 to 50 people that want one team covering both halves of the job. Ask them what a 90-day plan looks like, how they measure AI visibility, and what they will not promise.
C. AI search and AEO specialists
These firms track and fix: software that monitors AI answers, audits, structured data and page rewrites, usually from an SEO base, with writing as an add-on or quoted separately. They fit when you have writers already and need the technical side done well, or when you want to know where you stand before spending on content. Ask them what the monthly report contains, what happens after the audit, and who writes any content they include.
D. Content inside wider campaigns
These are PR, demand generation, brand and HubSpot agencies where content is one part of a larger programme, usually for larger monthly spend and marketing teams with an in-house lead. They fit when you need several channels run at once. Ask them how content is priced within the retainer and how much of it is written in-house.
We have not listed freelancers or AI writing tools. A good sector freelancer can be excellent value if you have the time to brief and edit; AI tools give you drafts, not a view. If you want the lowest-cost route, write it yourself with ChatGPT and spend the saving on someone to check it.
Five questions to ask any agency on your shortlist (the AI assistants we tested told buyers to ask about who writes, 90-day plans and guarantees; the rest are ours):
- Who writes the content, and will they interview our people?
- What does the first 90 days look like, week by week?
- How do you measure whether AI assistants mention us, and how often do you report?
- What will you not guarantee?
- Can we see a piece you wrote for a firm our size, with the author named?
Check whether your website is ready for AI search before you choose an agency
Our complimentary AI readiness check is a service for UK B2B firms: we look at how AI crawlers read your site, what they can quote, and where the gaps are, and send you a one-page report. It runs until 27 November 2026. Request your AI readiness check.
The comparison: 37 UK content and AEO agencies by what they do
Prices are as published on each firm’s own website on 22 October 2026. Where a firm says whether VAT is included, we follow it; most quote B2B prices before VAT, so check with any firm that does not say. “Not published” means the firm gives no price for its content or AEO work on its site; we have noted how it says it prices instead. Firms are in alphabetical order within each group, and every firm is linked to its own site. If we have misdescribed yours, the corrections route is in the method section at the end.

How to choose by what you spend each month
Pricing follows the work. None of the six content specialists on this page publishes a price, because writing tends to be scoped to each client, while eight of the eleven AI search specialists do, because tracking and audits package easily. If writing is the job you need done, expect a scoping call before you see a figure.
Rather than draw price bands around firms that sell different things, here is what the published prices above add up to, grouped by the job they pay for. Figures are each firm’s own, as published on 22 October 2026. Two firms on this page changed their pricing between our first check on 7 October and our recheck on 20 October (one raised its prices, one took them down), before our final check of every listing on 22 October, so treat every number as a starting point for a conversation.
- Tracking and monitoring only: from £149 a month (ORRJO monitoring), £300 (Sort The Clicks), £350 (Scalux) and £595 (Vikn Studio). You get a report on where you appear, and nothing is written.
- One-off AI readiness and AEO audits: from £500 (Contentifai AI readiness audit), £750 plus VAT (ORRJO, credited against larger work) and £2,950 (MarGen, credited to the first month). Brafton’s SEO website audit starts at £450.
- Search and AEO retainers that include some content: from £500 (Sort The Clicks Visibility Growth, one article) and £900 (Search Partner, two articles), Lawtelligence’s law firm SEO from £800, Click Intelligence from £1,000, Scalux Growth £1,050 (two drafts), ORRJO from £1,250 and Figment from £1,500. Vikn Studio’s £595 to £2,395 tiers quote content separately.
- Content and AI visibility programmes: Contentifai from £440 a month, with most of our clients spending £600 to £1,200; Whitehat from £1,967 to £2,967; Articulate from about £2,650; MarGen from £2,950; Mint USD 5,000 to 20,000.
- Campaign and multi-service retainers: Canny £1,440 to £5,280; Brafton’s SEO retainer from £1,500, with content priced separately at £75 per 100 words; Gripped from £3,500 (typical £5,000 to £15,000).
When we asked the AI assistants how much an AEO agency costs in the UK, they answered in bands too, and one of them quoted prices that two firms, one of them on this page, had changed weeks earlier. A dated page with a corrections route is our answer to that, and it is why we recheck every quarter.
Specialist content and AEO agencies by sector
These three cuts group the firms above by the sectors they name, for the buyers who most often ask us for a shortlist.
Fintech and financial services
Mint Studios was named by three of the four AI assistants we asked for a UK fintech content agency, and its work is built on interviews with the client’s own experts. Fintech Content, CopyHouse, Blue Train Marketing, Vested, Grizzle and Omnius all name fintech or payments as a core sector; MarGen and Stratton Craig list financial services among several, and Definition counts fintech among its tech clients. Contentifai writes a recurring column for FinanceX Magazine under a content partnership and has published a fintech content marketing case study on finding white space in a crowded market.
Professional services: law, accountancy and consultancy
Two firms work only with law firms: Lawtelligence and Conscious Solutions. Coast Communications offers PR and thought leadership content to professional services firms more widely. Cal Partners serves law firms, accountants, consultancies and IFAs, and PracticeWeb serves accountancy practices alone. Figment, MarGen, Definition and ROAR list law, accountancy or financial advice among their sectors. Contentifai works with professional services firms of 10 to 50 people that want their partners’ expertise turned into content buyers can find and AI assistants can quote.
Newcastle and the North East
When we asked the four assistants for a B2B content agency in Newcastle or the North East, the names that came back included Cal Partners, ROAR, Wriggle Marketing, Canny and Contentifai (first in Google’s AI answer and on Perplexity’s list), alongside Allies Group, B7 and others we have not listed. Our office is in Gateshead, across the Tyne from Newcastle city centre, and most of our clients are elsewhere in the UK and in Europe.
What ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google recommended when we asked
On 20 October 2026 we put seven buyer questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google’s AI answer, one fresh run each, 28 answers in all. The questions covered the best B2B content agency for a 30-person firm, who can get a firm cited by ChatGPT for about £1,000 a month, fintech content agencies, AEO costs under £1,500, alternatives to a specialist AEO agency, who can check a site’s AI search readiness, and B2B content agencies in the North East. Answers change between runs and between users, so what follows is a dated snapshot of patterns, not a ranking.
What we found: Of the firms on this page, those named in more than one answer were Gripped and ORRJO (four answers each); Velocity Partners, Vested, Mint Studios and ROAR (three each); and Radix, Click Intelligence, Scalux, Tilio, Cal Partners, Canny, Wriggle Marketing and Blue Train Marketing (two each). Firms we have not listed that came up more than once included AEO Agency UK, MEEDEA, NeuralAdX, AEOscore and Allies Group. Contentifai was named in three of the 28 answers: third in ChatGPT’s shortlist for a 30-person B2B firm, where it described us as a thought leadership and website content specialist for professional services and founder-led firms, first in Google’s AI answer for the North East, and on Perplexity’s North East list.
Five patterns stood out, the first being that many answers drew on roundups and comparison pages, several of them written by agencies listing themselves, which is one reason we wrote this one with every price sourced. Second, content questions were answered by need (“best for”, “choose this if”) while the price question was answered in bands, so we have organised the page the same way. Third, beyond a handful of names (Gripped, Mint Studios, Vested, Velocity Partners, ROAR and ORRJO), the four assistants rarely agreed on the same prompt, and a SparkToro and Gumshoe.ai study of 2,961 prompts found ChatGPT and Google’s AI returned a different brand list more than 99% of the time when the same prompt was repeated (Search Engine Journal, 2026), and Claude was only slightly more consistent, so expect your own results to differ from ours. Fourth, some answers quoted prices that firms had since changed, so freshness matters more than most buyers realise. Fifth, the assistants told buyers to ask who writes the content, ChatGPT and Perplexity both suggested asking for a 90-day plan, and several warned against anyone guaranteeing citations, which is where the five questions above come from.
One point of transparency: one Perplexity session carried a saved profile and one ChatGPT answer used the tester’s location, so we report patterns rather than positions. “Named” means the agency appeared in the answer text; it does not mean the assistant linked to or cited the agency’s own website. We will repeat the test each quarter and publish what changed.
How we compiled this list of UK content and AEO agencies
We included a firm if it is based in the UK or has a UK office selling to UK businesses, if it sells content writing, answer engine optimisation or both to B2B companies, and if its own website gives enough detail for us to describe it fairly. We left out SEO, PPC and PR firms with no content or AEO offer, agencies mainly serving consumer or e-commerce brands, AI writing tools, firms whose own site shows no UK base, and firms that no longer sell an agency service. Several agencies the assistants named fell at one of those tests and are named in the AI and sector sections instead.
Every price comes from the firm’s own website, last checked on 22 October 2026; where a firm gives no price, we say so and note how it says it prices. We did not use third-party price estimates. Within each group firms are listed alphabetically. Nobody paid to be listed, nobody is ranked, and we did not ask any firm for input before publishing. A ranking would need a judgement we cannot make from a website alone, so we have not attempted one.
Spotted an error in your listing? Email hello@contentifai.agency. We aim to correct any error within five working days, and we recheck every listing each quarter; the next full pass is in January 2027.
Where this leaves your agency shortlist
This page compared 37 UK agencies on the same six fields, grouped them by the job you need done, set out what each level of monthly spend buys, and reported what four AI assistants recommended on one day in October 2026. Prices and offers change fast, and several moved while we were checking, so confirm any figure on the firm’s own site before you decide. If you would like a second opinion on a shortlist, or want to know whether your own website is ready for AI search, request our complimentary AI readiness check (it runs until 27 November 2026) or see our services and prices.
Frequently asked questions about UK content and AEO agencies
These are the questions buyers most often put to us, and to the AI assistants, when choosing between a content agency and an AEO agency.
How much does an AEO agency cost in the UK?
Published UK prices on 22 October 2026 ran from £149 a month for monitoring alone to £12,950 a month for a top-tier programme. Tracking starts at £149 to £595 a month; search and AEO retainers that include some content run from £500 to about £1,500; content and AI visibility programmes from £440 to several thousand a month; one-off AI readiness and AEO audits from £500 to £2,950. More than half of the 37 agencies we checked publish no price for this work at all.
Should I spend £1,000 a month on Google Ads or content marketing?
Spend on ads if you need enquiries this month and can keep paying; paid leads largely stop when the spending does. Spend on content if you want enquiries that keep coming after the work is paid for and want AI assistants to quote you. Many firms run both, with ads carrying the short term while content builds. ChatGPT ads are now live in the UK, but OpenAI says they do not influence answers, so being quoted still depends on what you publish.
What is the difference between AI visibility tracking and AEO content?
Tracking tells you whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers mention you, usually through software and a monthly report. AEO content is the writing and page work that gives those assistants something worth quoting: answer-first pages, named experts, clear structure and sources. Tracking shows where you stand; content and page work are how you improve it. Most buyers need a little of the first and a lot of the second.
Do I need an AEO agency or a content agency?
If you already have writers and need the technical side done, an AEO specialist fits. If you have nobody writing from your expertise, start with content, because until it exists there is little on your own site for an assistant to quote. If you want one team for both, choose from the content and AI visibility group above and ask how they split the work.
Why do AI assistants recommend different agencies each time I ask?
Because they assemble each answer afresh from whatever sources they retrieve, and small changes in wording, location or a saved profile change the sources. A SparkToro and Gumshoe.ai study of 2,961 prompts found ChatGPT and Google’s AI returned the same brand list less than 1% of the time. Treat any single AI answer as one opinion, ask twice, and look at who the sources are.
How do I get a listing added or corrected?
Email hello@contentifai.agency with the firm’s name, website and what needs changing. We aim to correct any error within five working days. To be added, a firm needs a UK base shown on its own site, a content or AEO service sold to B2B companies, and enough on the site for us to describe it fairly; we add new firms at each quarterly refresh.
